Jeanne Abel Miniatures

Storybook 'Doll Maker' Cottage by Jeanne Abel

Two-level story book cottage inhabited by a mysterious miniature doll maker, whose morning meal of sweets and tea waits to be eaten. While not depicted, the house is on a swivel stand and the opposite view shows the exterior of a fairy tale cottage and garden scene (inspired by The Fairy Tale Cottages in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA below). The interior has two levels (first floor pictured above) with upstairs sewing room (see below) complete with miniature working tools and more dolls to keep the maker company. This house was built of rigid board insulation, which allows for carving while retaining its shape. The first floor features dozens of my miniature dolls from a collection that I treasure. Enjoy!
